“While we try to teach our children all about life,
Our children teach us what life is all about.”
_Angela Schwindt
Build Connection, Confidence, and Literacy Skills Through Play!
As parents, we do our best to teach our children, carefully selecting the right curriculum and planning lessons that will help them grow. But in the process, our children remind us of something even more important—learning happens best through joy, curiosity, and connection.
Do you sometimes find yourself “picking your battles” when it comes to addressing reading and writing with your child? You’re not alone! Many parents struggle to engage their children in literacy skills, feeling frustrated when traditional methods don’t seem to work. But what if learning to read and write could be fun, natural, and effective—without the stress? What if you could “pick your GAMES” instead?
That’s exactly what our Play to Read Parent Workshops are all about!
When we step into our child’s world of play, we discover what they’ve known all along—learning doesn’t have to be forced. When we teach through joyful experiences, learning becomes an adventure, and that’s what life is all about.
Teaching without PLAY is like popcorn without butter
You’ve chosen a curriculum, eager to help your child learn to read and write. But when it’s time to teach, the lesson feels dry, and your child resists. The pushback isn’t defiance—it’s a sign that the content feels inaccessible.
Children learn best when lessons match their learning style, connect to their interests, and meet them where they are—physically, emotionally, and developmentally.
That’s where play makes all the difference.
Think of your teaching like a bowl of popcorn. The curriculum provides the foundation, but on its own, it’s bland. Play is the butter and seasoning that makes learning irresistible. When we speak a child’s natural language—play—they engage, connect, and thrive.
That’s why I created the Play to Read Parent Workshops—to give parents like you a new way to engage your child in learning. When we embrace play, we create a community where education becomes joyful and empowering.
